چکیده

Abstract Climate change and rising sea levels, which threaten many Asian other coastal cities, have returned the question of adaptation to unstable marine surfaces global discussions about urbanization, as was illustrated by a recent United Nations (UN) roundtable. Consequently, rapidly growing number offshore structures, often constitute unconventional settlements, contributed an amphibious transformation Earth's surface in course twentieth early twenty-first centuries. This meant that both terrestrial aquatic places turned into human habitats. article asks how why today's leading environmental-political strand large-scale urbanization emerged from waters Tokyo Bay. Over the six decades since independence, India’s population grew three-fold from 350 million in 1947 to 1027 million in the year in 2001. During the same period, the urban population grew almost 4.6 fold as fast – from 62.4 million to 2...

Global latitudinal variations in marine copepod diversity and environmental factors.

Latitudinal gradients in diversity are among the most striking features in ecology. For terrestrial species, climate (i.e. temperature and precipitation) is believed to exert a strong influence on the geographical distributions of diversity through its effects on energy availability. Here, we provide the first global description of geographical variation in the diversity of marine copepods, a k...

Urbanization, Economic Development and Environmental Change

This paper applies the pressure-state-response (PSR) model to establish environmental quality indices for 30 administrative regions in China from 2003 to 2011 and employs panel data analysis to study the relationships among the urbanization rate, economic development and environmental change. The results reveal a remarkable inverted-U-shaped relationship between the urbanization rate and change...
